How we create and review templates
Our editorial process: where documents come from, who reviews them and how we keep them current.

A legal document is only useful if it is right for your country and your situation. That is why every Doculau template follows the same process, from choosing the model to updating it when the law changes. Here it is in detail.
1. Sources
We start from the legislation in force in each country, from the forms and criteria published by the competent authorities and from models in consolidated professional use. We do not use generic templates translated from other legal systems.
2. How a template is made
Every template goes through four stages before publication:
- Selection and structure: we define what the document must contain, which data to ask for and which clauses are optional or depend on the situation.
- Legal drafting: the text is written in the language and terminology of the country, from the sources above.
- Review: a member of the editorial team checks the generated document with test data, the consistency of the clauses and the accompanying guide.
- Publication and follow-up: the template is published with its review date and enters the update calendar.
3. What artificial intelligence does and what people do
We use artificial-intelligence tools to draft the explanatory guides, propose structures and detect inconsistencies. Decisions about legal content, the final review and publication always belong to people on the editorial team. No document is published without that supervision.
4. Updates
We review the catalogue periodically and, in addition, whenever we detect a relevant regulatory change in any of the countries we operate in. When a template is updated, the new version replaces the previous one for all later orders.
5. Errors and corrections
If you find an error in a template or a guide, we want to know. We review it within five business days and, where appropriate, correct the document and notify recent buyers. You can write to us from the contact page.
6. The limits of our work
Doculau is a self-service platform and does not provide legal advice. Our templates cover common situations; if your case has special circumstances, or if a lot is at stake, consult a qualified professional before signing.
